I’m not one to usually promote my own songwriting, but I was comfortable enough with this song to share it with everybody I knew, which is a first for me in many respects. Songwriting is a real interesting art, sometimes it comes spur of the moment, like the melody, and sometimes it’s truly informed by past experiences, which gave meaning to these words.
In essence, no relationship is perfect, and often the true feelings you have for someone get lost in the shuffle of everything else going on in your life, and this is sort of a tribute to that, two people realizing they loved who they lost, even though they understand it can never be again.
