Self described as “Afro-beat, dancey pants, indie pop love music”, I can only assure you that Givers aren’t quite as twee Vampire Weekend as they let on to be.  Rather Givers posses an extraordinary talent to incorporate recent influences like the former, along with acts like Dirty Projectors and MGMT to create a lush electro-afro-centric soundscape filled with chiming guitars, optimistic call and response vocals and warm synths.  In “Up Up Up” you’d swear this band is a sum of all these other band parts, but rather its just one of many standouts on their debut LP In Light.
